LifeScape
Privacy Policy
Effective November 4, 2026 · Version 2026-11-04-draft
Draft, under attorney review.LifeScape is in a private, invite-only beta. This page describes how LifeScape works today and may change before public launch. If it changes in a way that matters, we'll tell members and ask them to agree again.
The short version
LifeScape is a private place for families to keep their stories. Nothing you add is public by default.
You decide who sees your stories. Parents decide who sees their children. We never sell your information, and we don't show ads.
You can ask us for a copy of your information, or to delete it, at any time.
1. Who we are
LifeScape (joinlifescape.com) is run by LifeScape(“LifeScape,” “we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use LifeScape, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
When you create an account:
- Your name, email address and password. Your password is stored scrambled; we can't read it.
- Your city and state.
- The date you agreed to these terms, and that you confirmed you're 18 or older.
- Anything you add to your profile: a photo, a short "about me", and whether other members can find you.
What you and your family add to stories:
- Photos, videos, voice recordings and written memories.
- Titles, captions, comments and "loves".
- Who appears in a photo or video, when someone tags them.
- Permission forms and approvals, such as a parent agreeing to share their child's photos.
Connections:
- Stories you keep, join or follow, and follow requests you send or approve.
- Your LifeTree: the people you add and how you know them.
- Email addresses you give us when you invite someone. We use them only to send that invitation.
- People you block, and reports you send us.
When someone asks to follow without an account: their name, email address, city and state, so the family can decide whether to approve them.
How the site is used:
- Which pages are opened and which setup steps are finished, so we can see where people get stuck.
- The website that sent a visitor, if any.
- A short random code that links one visit's pages together. It disappears when you close the tab.
- Feedback you send us with the Feedback button.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't use outside analytics companies. Your browser keeps a small sign-in record so you stay signed in.
3. Children
LifeScape accounts are for adults 18 and older. Children don't sign up. They appear in LifeScape only when a parent, guardian or a story's keeper adds them, for example on a team's roster or in a birthday story.
- A child's parent or guardian controls who can follow that child and see their photos.
- When someone other than the child's parent tags a child in a photo, the tag waits for the parent's approval. Until then, the photo doesn't appear on the child's page or go to the child's followers.
- On team (Seasons) pages, each parent signs a permission form for their own child. Making a child's photo public needs a yes from that child's parent.
- A parent can remove a tag or take down a photo of their child at any time.
- We collect only what a family chooses to add. We don't ask children for anything directly.
If you believe a child's information is on LifeScape without their parent's consent, tell us through the Feedback button at the bottom of any LifeScape pageand we'll act on it quickly.
4. Who can see what
- A story is seen only by the people its keeper lets in: the people in the story and approved followers. Keepers can have up to 50 followers.
- Every follower is approved by the story's keeper. Followers of a child are approved by the child's parent.
- Your profile (photo, name, town, about me) can be found by other signed-in members unless you choose "only people I'm connected with". It is never on the open web. The titles of your stories are shown only to people you're connected with.
- Comments may wait for the keeper's approval before others can see them.
- Nothing on LifeScape is posted publicly unless the family chooses to, for example through a future public channel. If we add one, it will be opt-in.
- Our small team can see information when needed to run the service, answer a request, or review a report.
5. How we use it
- To run LifeScape: show your stories, play Momentaries, deliver follow requests and approvals.
- To send emails you'd expect, such as invitations, approvals, a weekly summary of stories you follow, and photo reviews for parents.
- To keep people safe: handle reports and blocks, and stop misuse.
- To improve LifeScape, using page visits and feedback.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use your photos or videos for advertising.
6. Companies that help us run LifeScape
A few service providers store or process information for us, only to run LifeScape:
- Supabase: our database, file storage and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Resend: sends LifeScape's emails.
Sample stories on the site use stock footage from Pexels and music from Pixabay. Those samples don't contain anyone's personal information.
We may share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of LifeScape. In a sale or merger, this policy would still apply to your information.
7. Keeping it and deleting it
- We keep your information while your account is open.
- You can delete things you added, and keepers can remove anything from their stories.
- To get a copy of your information, or to delete your account and what you've added, ask us through the Feedback button at the bottom of any LifeScape page. We'll confirm it's you, then do it.
- Some copies may remain in backups for a short time before they're removed.
- Photos you added to someone else's story belong to that story too. If you leave, we'll remove them on request.
8. Security
We use secure connections, scrambled passwords and access rules that limit each person to what they're allowed to see. No system is perfect. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
- Change your profile, who can find you, and who follows you, on the Me page.
- Block anyone, and report anything that shouldn't be there.
- Stop LifeScape emails with the unsubscribe link, or ask us to.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to see, correct, delete or move your information. We honor these requests for everyone.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and let members know.
